Our Story

Not everyone knows about our history.

It is not all flowers and butterflies, but we are happy and contented that we are here, putting up this page - reminiscing how did we started and ended up with what we have now.

If you care enough to read it, here you go, for we had laid it out for you.

How We Met.

2012

They both attended classes at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila, where they were BS Architecture students, enrolled in year 2010.

But they did not know about each other until 2012 when they became "blockmates" during their third year in the university.

One lunch out with common friends, Mishael, being himself, was throwing jokes around and... guess who asked Mishael to choose from one of her fingers, just to tickle herself with? Nikita thinks he got upset to be receiving such a response for the first time, (well because Mishael told her so later in their relationship.)

Being in college, later on, they found themselves inside a circle of people (friends) who always goes out for drinks, spending the nights in different places in the metro after class.

They just so happen to have been talking more and more, and eventually, 2014 came… and it just clicked.

2014 April

It just clicked.

They had their first dinner date at Mom & Tina's, in Sgt. Esguerra, South Triangle, Quezon City. Nikita just got her hair dyed into a full blown deep teal green, and they are getting some side eyes, maybe because of that.

They went on their second date at Ayala Museum in Makati, and had a meal at McDonald's Greenbelt 3 before driving to the University campus to attend their Design class in the evening.

They, being a couple, started with a lot of museum dates and photo walks along Metro Manila.

They worked on their undergraduate theses together... graduated and got their first jobs (or internship)... they reviewed together for their Master Plumber and Architect licensure examinations - which they passed!... traveled to Japan together...

...and had been in a rocky long distance relationship that started in 2017.

The Wedding Proposal

2023 February 03

Contrary to popular belief, Nikita asked for Mishael's hand first when they met at the Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, whilst waiting for their flight to Rome.

She bought the wedding bands already - a pair of custom white gold rings; She asked and he said... nothing. It does not fit.

Nobody was expecting anything else to happen after that (-- after all, they are already engaged)

It's their last full day in Europe and they were in Prague. They had dinner at El Toro Negro in the Old town square, and it is raining. Mishael asked if they could go back to the Charles Bridge after dinner. On the way to the bridge, Nikita asked if he could take a photo of her ring (the one she brought) with the Church of Our Lady before Týn in the background.

Mishael, being the man he is, got annoyed - his plan was to propose at the Charles Bridge! - and said, "huwag na 'yan, ito nalang" whilst pulling out a black box from his puffer jacket pocket, saying, "Nikita, will you marry me?" - She was... speechless.

He opened it and Nikita asked, "bakit may ilaw?!" -- because the box has a small LED light that lights up when you open it up, illuminating the diamond ring, before saying "YES!" they hugged and kissed in the middle of the old town square under a broken umbrella.

Later, Mishael made it known that he cannot go down in one knee because it's raining and there's puddle where we are standing... but, who cares? We're going on Pinterest.

2024 February 29

It was definitely NOT a smooth ride going to where we are now, but we sure are glad that we are here today!
